BRYC Announces New Coaching Staff for Rising U15G (Fall 2008) BRYC Santos

Effective Fall 2008, the current WAGS Division I U-14 BRYC Santos will be coached by Megan McCarthy and John Kenny.  Hugo Phan will remain on the coaching staff as the technical skills trainer.

As a former player and coach, Megan McCarthy brings a wealth of experience to the team.  Her dominant presence on the field as a member of the women’s soccer team at William and Mary earned her the distinction of National Collegiate Player of the Year in 1987.  She went on to play for the 1991 US Women National team where she was named a starter until she was sidelined with an injury.    More recently, Megan has focused her efforts on coaching soccer where she continues to be an inspirational leader and role model for female athletes that share her passion for soccer.

John Kenny brings over 15 years of coaching experience to the Santos .  John’s accomplishments as a coach include a National Championship Title and Finalist, 3 Regional Championships and 11 State Cup Titles.  John has also enjoyed tremendous success as a high school coach where he has won a State Title as well as several District and Regional Championships.  John’s most recent success was with the two time State Cup Champions, Braddock Road Fury, whom he graduated in 2007.

Open practice sessions will be held on an ongoing basis starting in early June.    Dedicated soccer players seeking a serious and rewarding soccer environment are encouraged to attend.  Please contact Alison Nelson or John Kenny for additional information.   Updates will also be posted on www.brycsoccer.com as well as www.wagsl.com.
